A colloquial saying states, “жоону сайса ким сайды, аты калды Манаска” meaning it does not matter who killed the enemy, the credit belongs to Manas.  The stories of many biblical heroes (Moses, David, etc) seem to be reflected in Manas' life.  If the Kyrgyz Manas is the biblical Manase, then Manase's tribe would have experienced Moses and David's heroics and attributed their victories to Manas (Manasseh), their original leader and father.
